Overview

The Account/Project Director is the functional lead within the agency managing a studio setup consisting of a specialist artwork production team. Working closely with our client's Print Retail Marketing Communication team, the incumbent will support the localization/implementation of Retail POSM across the Greater China region. The role requires someone who has a hands-on approach and can direct an established team at the same time. Working in a fast-paced environment, the incumbent will have to be adept at reacting quickly to changing needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build strong client relationships which enable a clear understanding of the client’s Retail Channel partner structure and print vendors. Be the ‘go-to’ person for Channel Marketing asset localization and production 
  • Set and manage client expectations ensuring they follow the agreed workflows
  • Manage localization of all Channel Marketing communications on the agency side
  • Plan, resource and manage large campaign launches both in Shanghai and abroad where necessary
  • Continuously work on development and implementation of process improvements
  • Manage a diverse team of studio managers and artworkers to ensure an efficient production setup producing high quality output at a fast pace with an accurate and timely reporting structure
  • Build internal relationships across the agency (Traffic, CPMs, Finance, HR, Operations) and ensure a collaborative working relationship of the team with other agency functions to share/implement best practices
  • Attend status meetings / VCs on a regular basis
  • Ensure that the studio team meets their SLAs
  • Ensure that a strong pool of freelance designers and artworkers are available, well trained and kept up to date with new ways of working
  • Manage the approval of quarterly budgets, flagging important budget fluctuations to the client
  • Ensure that global management is aware of all client issues and proposed solutions (including potential delays) to ensure swift resolution and avoid further escalation
  • Ensure your account consistently delivers against all contractual obligations including SLAs and KPIs
  • Act as a brand QC/Guardian – always ensure brand guidelines, QC checklists and procedures are followed
  • Keep GAD and FD informed of any circumstances which would positively or negatively affect forecasts
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Hogarth business model, services and technology
  • Organize teamwork, create balanced work schedule and ensure people are able to deliver results
  • Work closely with HWW counterpart teams in other countries to share best practices

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 years solid advertising agency experience gained working on global retail and/or shopper accounts, from creative development to final production.
  • Good knowledge of print, colour retouching, and digital artwork production processes and best practices
  • Experience in financial management and understanding the importance of accurate financial management.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills in both Excel and Numbers.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in both Chinese and English.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking ability and passion for the work are essential.
  • A hands-on, can-do approach to solving problems.
  • The ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently within very tight time frames.
  • Must be able to travel as required, sometimes several weeks at a time.
