Role summary:


The HR Director manages Hogarth California’s HR Department across all functions and leads the efforts to set the tone and culture of the office. You will also be responsible client specific initiatives in our worldwide hubs.


  • Manage the HR function for Hogarth California which has +300 employees and regularly flexes by up to 40% during peak periods
  • Overseeing all HR functions, including employee relations, benefits and compensation, talent acquisition and management, immigration, reporting and analytics
  • Interface globally with wider Hogarth and WPP Human Resources network to align on global policies, strategy and corporate initiatives
  • Support the roll-out of new HRIS to facilitate enhanced reporting and analysis
  • Stay abreast of all local, state and federal laws as they relate to employee policies and programs ensuring our practices are compliant
  • Make informed recommendations on policies, systems and structure that will benefit our business as a whole and emphasize our core values
  • Be innovative, a champion for change and assist in implementing new polices and programs
  • Initiate employee engagement programs both locally and globally to help connect the worldwide business units
  • Handle performance management programs for the global teams
  • Work with the Hogarth CA Managing Director and CFO to manage salary and headcount budgets
  • Help manage conflict and creatively resolve issues to mitigate risk
  • Ensure that HR is a safe place to solve employee relations issues and provide guidance
  • Manage on-going monthly and quarterly learning sessions and town halls, fostering communication throughout the organization
  • Develop and roll out training programs for both managers and employees including coaching and development
  • Oversee compliance testing and mandatory reporting
  • Work with internal and external counsel to manage and document severance agreements
  • Oversee the integration of employees from acquired companies and joint ventures


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 10+ years of HR leadership experience
  • Ability to partner with senior management to drive change across the organization
  • Previous experience in a corporate environment working with operational and support groups to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Experience providing leadership and HR support across multiple geographic locations
  • Results-driven and able to adhere to regular deadlines
  • Team player with an interest in process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong influence, negotiation and coaching skills
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative solutions to business needs
  • Good client relationship skills including dealing with multiple stakeholders and ability to think on your feet
