  • Overview

    The Account Director is responsible for generating revenue and ensuring the smooth operations of assigned accounts. Responsibilities include client relationship management, financial management, business development, and project management. Account Directors are required to have a thorough understanding of all areas of the Hogarth/production services business and be able to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment. The Account Director may or may not have staff management responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Drive revenue growth by leading initiatives from planning through implementation
    • Manage all financial aspects of assigned accounts including development, review, and management of SOW, time of staff estimates, construction of fees, account reviews, profitability analysis, and utilization, working with Finance where appropriate
    • Handles the monthly billing and tracking of all production budgets
    • Client relationship management including being the primary client contact (both procurement and brand teams), structuring regular status and communications with clients, setting and managing expectations and deliverables, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
    • Provide guidance and counsel to clients to help them achieve their business objectives
    • Works with clients (brands) and creative agencies to ensure a clear understanding of the production brief, deliverables and timeline for each project and relays those details to other members of the team as necessary
    • Collaborate with internal agency partners to ensure smooth execution of all client business including transcreation and the various media platforms
    • Provide effective project management through utilization of the various Hogarth tools
    • Identify improvements to existing workflow and processes
    • Ensure a thorough understanding of the contractual obligations, commercial arrangements, and SLA’s across assigned accounts and ensure specific details are understood by the broader team
    • Partner with broadcast producers to develop the production strategy and overall production plan to maximize efficiency and ensure that plan is adhered to
    • Responsible for managing the talent and traffic teams at Hogarth to ensure the full year media plan is handled successfully
    • Provide regular strategic insights to clients on a monthly or quarterly basis that focus on high-level strategy within Hogarth’s areas of production expertise. These may include competitive analysis, market overviews, case studies, and strategy planning.
    • Hire, train, and manage account staff as needed

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree with a Business or Finance major, MBA a plus
    • 5 – 8 years of experience in Client Services industry, with at least 3 years working in a creative agency environment
    • Proven ability to lead dynamic account teams
    • Thorough understanding of client’s business and the competitive landscape to provide sound counsel
    • Ability to make decisions and solve problems based on sound technical knowledge
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Experience working in TV production is ideal
    • Expert client relationship skills including presenting to clients, dealing with multiple stakeholders, and ability to think on your feet
    • Must be able to interact with Senior/Executive Management of the agency and client
    • Strong line manager with ability to hire, retain, and develop staff
    • Strong written/oral communication skills
    • Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
