Hogarth editors play a central role within the department. They combine their many skill sets to produce a single combined result such as a clocked TV commercial for broadcast, or an edit for internal or non-broadcast use.
Hogarth Editors must perform competently on a variety of projects from broadcast TV commercials to internal communication videos, to planning/research mood films, as well as online video based advertising banners or virals. They must combine both their creative skills with their technical know-how. Technically, editors must posses a full understanding of broadcast standards and compliance issues, and be able to quality check their own work to deliver finished TV commercials at the highest possible standard. Creatively, editors must posses and eye and ear for dynamic editing, and be able to realise and deliver ideas in audio/visual form. They need to demonstrate a meticulous eye for detail, a calm nerve under pressure, and an understanding of storytelling, messaging and branding. Editors must be organised and work in a structured and process driven manner.
Hogarth editors must possess a full understanding of Final Cut Studio & Apple hardware, as well as asset management systems such as Final Cut Server. Editors will manage and organize their work and take responsibility for media managing and archiving finished projects.
Hogarth Editors must have the ability to perform well in client attended sessions and posses good communication skills. Editors are expected to be team players, to support producers with timings and advice on processes to attain a high level of work within the department.
Hogarth Editors need to have broadcast industry experience of at least 3 years.
