    Hogarth editors play a central role within the department. They combine their many skill sets to produce a single combined result such as a clocked TV commercial for broadcast, or an edit for internal or non-broadcast use.


    Hogarth Editors must perform competently on a variety of projects from broadcast TV commercials to internal communication videos, to planning/research mood films, as well as online video based advertising banners or virals. They must combine both their creative skills with their technical know-how. Technically, editors must posses a full understanding of broadcast standards and compliance issues, and be able to quality check their own work to deliver finished TV commercials at the highest possible standard. Creatively, editors must posses and eye and ear for dynamic editing, and be able to realise and deliver ideas in audio/visual form. They need to demonstrate a meticulous eye for detail, a calm nerve under pressure, and an understanding of storytelling, messaging and branding. Editors must be organised and work in a structured and process driven manner.


    Hogarth editors must possess a full understanding of Final Cut Studio & Apple hardware, as well as asset management systems such as Final Cut Server. Editors will manage and organize their work and take responsibility for media managing and archiving finished projects.

    Hogarth Editors must have the ability to perform well in client attended sessions and posses good communication skills. Editors are expected to be team players, to support producers with timings and advice on processes to attain a high level of work within the department.


    Hogarth Editors need to have broadcast industry experience of at least 3 years.


    • General day-to-day editing, basic colour correction, simple motion graphics and basic sound editing.
    • Conforming & finishing of broadcast commercials.
    • Conceptual work on animatics, photomatics & mood reels.
    • Clockings, sound-lays and adding or amending legal copy to masters.
    • Completing projects and delivering within budgeted parameters and managing appropriate resources.
    • Ensuring all broadcast material is broadcast legal and meets broadcast standards.
    • Expressing and sharing constructive feedback with all levels of client and agency personnel.
    • Advising on client specific information such as brand information, Logos, fonts and notes of guidance.
    • Advising producers and post producers with information on VFX to ensure we deliver a professional and accurate quote so that projects are brought in on time and within budgeted parameters.
    • Assisting on projects that may require additional resources to meet quoted deadlines.
    • To contribute to the training and development of junior editors and edit assistants in the department. File management using Final Cut Server. Media management & archiving of completed projects


    • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • A clear understanding of the meaning of customer care/service.
    • A good working knowledge of post production processes and services.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills. Good conceptualization skills.
    • General "can-do" service attitude.
    • Excellent time management skills & multi-tasking abilities.
    • A thorough understanding of the broadcast QC process.
    • Have a good understanding of modern file formats and codecs.
    • Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail.
    • Well presented and polite.
    • Able to adapt to new working methods & practice technology advances.
    • Good working knowledge of Mac OSX & Final Cut Studio.
    • Be able to work independently as well as part a team.
    • The ability to form good working relationships with senior editors, producers and edit assistants.
    • Positive attitude towards problem solving and tight deadlines.
